Active School Travel is back!
Wishart State School did extremely well in staying active in 2020. Every Wednesday traffic congestion was significantly improved through many students choosing to walk, ride, scooter, car pool or catch the bus to school instead of driving.
Let’s hit the ground running in 2021 and have even more students actively travelling to school every Wednesday, starting Wednesday 24th February.
There are rewards for classes that have the most active travellers. There are three grouped Year levels:
- Prep and Year 1
- Year 2 and Year 3
- Years 4 to Year 6
The category for the rest of Term 1 is the highest overall percentage.
The winning classes for this week will be in next week’s Newsletter.
These classes will hold the trophy for the week and receive a prize of extra play time, watching a show or extra library time.
Don’t forget to check out the leader board to see where your class is sitting.
Park and Stride!
Mrs Black, Ms Burley and Ms Robertson-Hand will be walking to school from Berkshire Crescent Park (Sovereign Gardens) on Wishart Road every Wednesday. They will be there from 8am and will leave to walk to school at 8:15am.
We would love to see as many parents and students as possible doing the same!
