Wishart State School has an
attractive and economical school uniform.
All parents are to encourage their children to wear the uniform each day. We believe that wearing a uniform helps
develop a sense of belonging, of school pride and self-esteem. Children must wear a “fully brimmed” sun-safe
hat; baseball style caps are not to be worn.
Our
uniform helps identify our children so that by their high standard of
behaviour, they can bring credit to their school. If for some reason children are not able to
wear their uniform for a short period of time they should be dressed in neat,
clean, suitable clothing, and bring a note from their parent/caregiver to
explain the reason. Beach-wear, tank
tops, bare shoulders, midriffs and advertising t-shirts are not acceptable
school wear.
No jewellery other than a watch (which must be removed for swimming
lessons), ‘sleepers’ or ‘studs’ for ears, and religious medallions are to be
worn to school.

Interschool Sporting
Fixtures
Students chosen to represent the school in Interschool
Sport are required to wear the full
school uniform each Friday. Anything other than this uniform will see your
child stood down from Interschool Sport that day.
Other Representative
Occasions
For other occasions where your child may represent our
school, they will be required to wear the uniform or special clothing as
directed by the school. All students who
are part of our Instrumental and Choral programs will be required to wear the
designated uniform for performances.
Failure to do so may result in a child not being able to perform on that
day.
Free Dress Days
From time to time we run Free Dress days at school. On
these days children are to wear sun safe and appropriate clothing for the
school setting. Closed in shoes must be worn and children must have a sun safe
hat.
