Dear parents and caregivers,
As you are aware our community is experiencing flooding in our local area.
I hope that everyone remains safe and acknowledge that this is a difficult time for many of us. Families are encouraged to tune-in to local media, monitor weather conditions, heed the warnings and follow instructions from emergency services.
Especially now - Remember, “If it's flooded, forget it".
Our school will be open tomorrow, 2 March. Whilst this is good news, we would like to remind everyone to stay safe.
If the impact of this weather event poses a danger to your child travelling to school, please contact Wishart State School at absence@wishartss.eq.edu.au, enter an absence through QParents or call the school absence line on 3849 0560 as soon as possible to advise us of your child's absence.
If you have any other concerns or require additional support, please contact your child's classroom teacher or our Administration Team.
Please be aware that absences due to emergencies and natural disasters will not be recorded on a student's report card.
Please regularly check the school closures website https://closures.qld.edu.au. This site will be updated on a daily basis.
We will continue to provide information to families via email, the school website and the schools electronic sign as it becomes available. There are also many excellent resources on the Queensland Government Get Ready Queensland website that serve as a checklist for our homes, travel arrangements and our personal safety.
Thank you for your ongoing support and please stay safe.
Regards,
Dr Ray Bloxham Principal
